At xtab we're adding another weekly blog post reviewing the newly approved skins in Rust.
Here's this week's approvals. Facepunch approved 12 out of an incredible 1800 submitted. Congrats to everyone who won approval, and good luck again next week!
The Telogreika Jacket is a snow jacket and one of our picks from earlier in the week. Just the thing to get you through the Nuclear Winter.
The Burglar Mask is a good choice for lone wolves breaking into sheet metal shacks. Makes clear what you're up to, kind of like running up the Jolly Roger.
And now for la pièce de résistance (sorry!), the Chest Resistance metal chest plate. It looks like the sort of thing that could stop bullets...or pin you to the bottom of the river.
We have no quarrel with the quality of the Lavapick--nice detail on the handle, and the glow effect is pretty cool--but we cannot understand why someone would want to carry around a bright neon glow-in-the-dark "SHOOT ME!" sign, especially when they're farming.
You Tarzan. Me Jane. Or maybe the Queen of Timbuktu. Or your local bathhouse, if you prefer. It's good to see some female clothing appearing in the game. The artist, Runya, has also done a couple of leopard skin ponchos and a matching skirt. We hope the skirt also gets approved, and maybe even some matching male clothing as well.
We had no idea reptiles grew to such unusual sizes on this radioactive island, but looks like they're out there somewhere. This is a GREAT looking skin, with especially good work on the teeth. Note the cute little ouroboros on the head strap.
We're pleased to see Facepunch agreed with one of our picks this week and chose The Mask of Sacrifice. Perhaps to be worn by a Lord of War, or something like that. Mishka picked up two items this week, the other being the Chest Resistance Way to go Mishka!
This armored door looks and feels solid, like it really could absorb a rocket blast or two. All bases pretty much look the same right now, so we need a lot more skins like this one.
When they come a knockin', get out your No War Guitar, hold down the V key, and sing, "All we are saaayyinnng...is give peace a chance!" Keep doing that long enough, and they'll go away.
A tank crew vest, of the sort worn by servicemen around the world in ages past. Keeps you warm on cold nights, and easy to remove in case of injury or fire.
A fine new Tommy gun skin by Zufick, one of the most successful Rust skin artists. The row of skulls along the gun's body should remind you what this game is all about, (Hint: it's not about being 'friendly') and also take note of the fallout symbol on the very back of the gun.
