The Christmas contest is over, and the winners chosen. We'd like to thank our esteemed judges for their invaluable support:
Out of about 70 submissions, the judges narrowed it down to four, and the public picked one (and a good choice it was!). So without further adieu, here they are:
First place goes to Sfonsper for his cheery Christmas Furnace. We've looked closely, but we can find nothing threatening, demonic, or even mildly disturbing about it. It's just a happy little furnace decorated in the traditional way to lift the spirits and warm the heart.
With the sound of gunfire in the distance, and explosions rattling your windows, have a seat by the furnace, play your guitar and roast a package of ancient, rock-hard marshmallows in the fire. You're home.
Detail in the shirt is excellent, with rough stitching, multiple materials, and plenty of dirt applied to the clothing. These elves may be busy, but they don't do laundry. We especially like the exaggerated belt and collar.
We cannot stress enough the set's power to infuriate or demoralize your enemies. Repeated Death by Elf can be too much for some people to bear, and their salty tears will be sweeter than any Christmas candy. Outfit your clan today!
Attention Female character players! Now is your chance to obliterate any unwanted male attention you may be receiving in game. The Festive Beard is a bandana that looks like a (very) fake white Santa beard with little Rust ornaments stuck in it. Ho ho ho!
Just so you know, Judges Erin and Stabby voted for it. Stabby also left a comment: "Hehehehehehehehehehe" and with that, the Festive Beard took third place. Congratulations, Vlek!
Note: Facepunch went with a different version of this skin at approval. The previous version had cut out the surrounding blue bandana, while this one leaves it in place. The image you see here is the correct one for sale in the store now.
The Christmas 2017 Noob Award goes to [KC] Sir, for best Christmas skin from an artist with three or fewer approvals. Quality is fully up to par, and the skin is detailed and creative, featuring a sleepy, smiling Rudolph on top of a soft hide shoe. Awww, so cute!
Just don't tell Rudolph where leather comes from.
The People's Choice award went to the excellent Santa's Shotgun by Milho Frito, all sweetness and snowflakes, with candy striped brass capped barrels that'll blow your head clean off. Better not be on the naughty list.
As with everything from this artist, quality is superb and details are sharp and strong. A real digital stocking stuffer!
