Nineteen skins approved this week, from the humble to the sublime. Let's get started!
This is an AWESOME double barrel shotgun skin by Zufick, best skin of the week without a doubt. It looks like a mix of garage gun junk and machine parts, jury-rigged but solid and utterly lethal.
This is a sheet metal door skin, made to look like a prison door. More like a dungeon door, really--you wouldn't want to get locked up behind this thing. Good craftsmanship, but it would be nice to see a few more details on the skin.
Another Alien series weapon by Madroce, this time an AK. We covered the pistol a couple of weeks ago, and this AK is every bit as good. The entire gun is scratched and faded, with alien writing here and there. It's good to know that aliens use the same weapons we do, it means they can bleed and die just like us. Stay alert, keep your rifle handy!
If it weren't for the Industrial DBS skin also released this week, this would have been our favorite skin of the week. A cut down stock and blazing yellow barrels lets people know this maniac is looking to shoot first and not bother with questions later. By Estavos.
We could get behind last week's release of a Newman brain rock skin--many people's heads are hard enough to smash rocks--but can a frozen turkey? We did a little research, and it turns out that yes, they can, and quite a few other things, too.
Now here's something you don't see every day, thankfully. It is an improvised balaclava skin in the most literal meaning of the word. The drooping lower lip is the detail that gets us. Ugh.
Wear these when you go house to house on wipe day, naked and begging for food or tools. Makes you seem harmless. When they open the door, whip out your meat cleaver and let 'em have it.
A fancy eoka pistol, if you can believe it, polished and painted to look like a pirate's pistol. It's a good looking weapon that still looks primitive, which we like. Too bad you can't hold one in each hand.
Oookay. We can think of a few other things Eoka pistols remind us of, but let's not go there. Certainly this one wins big points for creativity, but if you ever manage to kill someone with this thing, the player just may die of shame in RL.
Give 'em the news, all of it bad, with Bad News, an IED satchel charge made from rusty bean cans and wrapped in ancient newspapers. It is clearly more dangerous to its operator than whatever it's attached to. By KF.Hammond.
The Tank Pump Shotgun is another entry in the Tank series of weapons by Estavos. It's painted a dark army green, with a couple of skulls stamped on it, of course, and the whole weapon is beaten and battered, just the way we like.
An unusual entry, this skin's rubberized barrel and cobalt blue body almost make it look like a toy...but it's not. It's got a broken wooden stock with plenty of notches to help keep score. The artist, StabbyMcStabface assures us in his skin description that all the baldie babes will love it.
Another quality AK skin by Milho Frito. Players will find it looks tough and Rusty, but relatively simple. We've seen a lot of work from this artist over the past year, and we hope to see more detail than offered in this skin. You won't go wrong buying a Milho Frito skin, but he's certainly made better.
The Porthole door is an upgrade to the crappy wood door newbies use to mark their territory. It will still burn as fast as any other wood door, but at least you'll be keeping up the neighborhood. You can also look out the portal and see who who's a knockin', but then again, they can look right back at you, can't they?
This is a glowing red hot rock skin. We don't get this one, but it must work for some people or it would never get approved. In case you're wondering, it really does glow in the dark, all the better for other players to see you when you're at your most vulnerable. :)
A bronze face mask, skillfully cast from metal mold. The design is enigmatic, but fierce.
This excellent pick axe skin is photorealistic in quality, with the paint cracked and worn off on one end of the tool, and slightly rusty at that. The artist, La Crampe, has produced quite a few other tools and weapons of equal quality, be sure and check out his workshop!
Yet another excellent skin by Vitalik, the Carbon Facemask will keep you in disguise while you commit your crimes. It could use a little scuffing up, but that's our only real criticism. We like the fine carbon mesh and the breathing holes. Scary!
