Around 750 submissions this week. With standards tightening, there are fewer skins to choose from with good chances of approval. But there's still more than enough--Here's the best ten we found.
Every kid knows you're not supposed to open the emergency door, but Vitalik opened it, pried it off its hinges and carted it back to base. It's a good thing he was able back stop it with a little sheet metal, or some raider creep would get into through the window for sure.
We think it's solid work, though it could use a few more details for interest's sake. Maybe some Emergency Only print, or School Bus, or crude drawings scratched in the paint.
There are two versions of this door by Steve Dredd, one yellow and one blue. One side of the door is padded, the other side painted metal. As the artist notes in his description, the door once kept the crazies in, now it keeps them out.
@Steve Dredd: The name is wrong. Sanitariums were for people with tuberculosis ("Consumption"), asylums are for the mad. Either way, the door well evokes the suffering that must have gone on behind it.
Mental Disability has gone the other direction with a relatively simple flaming pistol, a bit similar in concept to the Dark Flames AK which recently won approval. The gun has clearly been hand-painted black with the flames, and the paint is a bit faded all over. It looks like it's been fired a lot
If approved, we think the straightforward and direct design will sell well. It's easy to "get" the skin when seen from a distance. The only thing we wish different is more detail on the top of the gun.
Very creative. Relic has made something we've never quite seen before in the workshop. We think it fits the game well, since any determined savage or cannibal could make it, and it looks ominous and scary. Prepare to be sacrificed.
A clan hood like this one would be very distinctive and easy to recognize at a distance. Good luck Relic!
When it comes to making skins in the spirit of the game, DeltaP42 gets it. The sword is a strip of street sign, sharpened, rusty really nasty. The technicals are a little weak, but the creativity is strong, so we decided to feature it. It's definitely the sort of skin we want to see a lot more often.
Government has produced another skin worth featuring, this time a metal hatchet with a beaten iron blade and carved wood handle. We think it's a good looking ax with solid craftsmanship, but we also know there's a ton of competition in this space, so approval may prove elusive. We can't believe we're saying this, but...Good luck to Government!
